Budapest Bar in BT River of Music Lineup
25 júl, 2012
The Hungarian act Budapest Bar is on the lineup of BT River of Music, a series of performances on stages along the River Thames in London on July 21-22, the weekend before the city opens the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
“A world-class gypsy band, Budapest Bar have garnered critical acclaim for their brilliantly imaginative re-invention of chanson, jazz, Brazilian music, film themes and gypsy traditions, inspired by the evocative and eccentric Budapest café culture of the 30s and 40s,” the festival organiers say on their website.

Led by virtuoso violinist Robert Farkas, the band features cimbalom player Mihaly Farkas, pianist and accordionist Karoly Ökrös and double bassist Richard Farkas, and includes international guests such as renowned vocalist Dori Behumi. For BT River of Music Budapest Bar will be expanded to include musicians from 12 countries across Europe.
